Annual Filling of the Pool

This was the weekend. We finally got to fill up the pool. The kids were all so excited. Enjoyed playing in the freezing water as it got deeper and deeper. Was a nice afternoon to spend together as a family in the back yard. Probably our favorite family activity to do. We are happy summer is here!

First 2 min teaser with Kamdyn.

News Vehicle after the show!

Today, Sunday, May 24th Infant Swimming was given a segment during Good Day Sacramento's morning news. We had a live spot, two 'teasers' about 10 seconds each and a 3 min segment. Matthew, Kamdy, Gianni (2 years old) and Liv (4 years old) were all featured. It was a great morning and fun for all our family. The boys and Troy all got to be on as well, during the show's daily 838 AM STRETCH minute. Plus during one of the 10 second teaser spots the 3 boys were in the background. They didn't quite get it all, as the 3 of them were less than excited to be there sitting watching...you can't tell at all from the looks on their faces!!!

The news anchors and reporter were very positive about the program. I didn' have to say much, which was great. The 4 children all did more or less what they needed to and looked great!

Swimming Season 2009

Today is May 18, 2009. Saturday we went to the gym pool with some friends of ours to swim for the first time this season. (Our pool is still empty). It was Matthew's first real time since last summer and he did exceptional, not that we were concerned at all. He held his own, swam fantastic and was a blast in the pool. The other boys of course did just fine, had a great time with the friends that happen to be there swimming as well and others that came with us. But...

Kamdyn was our concern. I had her in the pool starting her swimming portion of the self rescue lessons I am trained in teaching during the winter. In January she had 2 weeks of lessons, so roughly 10 lessons and did OK, not great but OK. Well she ended up getting sick, got a strange rash that lasted forever and we were worried about getting her back in the indoor pool there at the gym...so we were waiting for summer, anticipating I'ld get her trained here at home...well, needless to say, Saturday we got a glimpse of what our summer will be like. She did so fantastic, Troy and I were both amazed. She cried, screamed for the first 20 or so minutes probably. Eased up a bit, did great on her swim to the wall. Then Troy got in the water and we swam her between us. She loved it. She'd swim to one of our hands, get up and put her hand out to swim back to the other one of us. It was so funny...then...she decided she wanted to sit/jump from the side. She do that, come up and float and then turn over to either swim to the wall or our hand. Well she progressed to full on jumping in, floating and swimming to our hands or the wall. She did this for probably two straight hours. We were so proud of her. It was so fun and we can't wait to see how great she'll do at home. And she is SAFE!!!! We know if she jumps in or falls in or whatever she'll float and swim!!!! What a great thing this self rescue program of ISR is!!!!

Andrew Baseball 2009 - Farm League

Hit a pop up/foul ball here!

Andrew is our only one playing baseball this year. Joshua never really has played as it is a difficult sport for him (too much standing around) and Triston does not want to play anymore. So Andrew it is. Things stepped up this year a notch, all the kids had to tryout and the coaches were part of a 'draft' pick. Andrew was the 2nd draft choice out of all 70 or so kids that tried out. He is on a team that has definately struggled with a record so far of 9 losses and only 1 win, but he has enjoyed learning and growing and getting better. He started off just pitching and catching. He then did pitching, left field and first base. He likes left field and pitching the best. He actually has made some great plays from left field. One game he got a guy out with his backup catch from the third baseman and his throw to home plate. Has been a very fun year to watch for sure. We are proud of him. He was asked to try out for the All Star team, which would travel to surrounding towns and play other All Star teams, so we hope he makes that. (Troy made all 4 years of All Stars as a kid here in Lodi!!!!) Andrew would love to follow that legacy! We'll let you know.

Kamdyn

Just to show how big she is getting here are a couple photos of Kamdyn. She cut her eye on the edge of a table. We did not get stitches, just healed on its own. Looked more awful than it was! She is so fun to dress for church...definately feeling the wonderful enjoyment that comes from having a daughter. She is fiestier than her brothers. She has an attitude like no other and she definately, definately is a girlie girl, who loves her baby dolls, purses and lip gloss...all the while can dribble a soccer ball and kick like she sees her brothers do!!!!

Mother's Day 2009

I have a wonderful family. We had a great Mother's Day weekend. We all went to dinner Saturday night so I didn't have to cook. Sunday I planned a 'mom's meal' consisting of chicken salad and crossants, with jello salad and chips. I made a blackberry pie that once we added extra sugar was fantastic!!! Troy suprised me with a cd/ipod doc speaker system for the kitchen shelf so that I could listen to music in a more updated fashion! I feel blessed and lucky to have each member of my family. I have a fantastic husband that always thinks about me and takes care of me and the boys and Kamdyn are such great kids. Really am lucky to have life worked out just how it has!!

My Favorite

This is my favorite picture of the day. I love that his tongue is out and he is so serious. What fun years we have ahead watching him progress in soccer.

Score!!!

Matthew started soccer today. He has been waiting for 2 months since we signed him up, honestly counting down the days...couple of meltdowns cause he thought the day had come, got ready and it wasn't the day...but today surely was and he was so ready and so excited, he ran the show this morning getting everyone ready to get out the door. It was raining, we were unsure they would play...but play they did! The team did great, it was literally like 10 to 1 in our favor. Oshyn scored I think 5, Lydia scored 1 or 2, Matthew scored 2 and a couple other kids scored as well. It was such a fun morning! Matthew is the youngest on the team, as we asked to have him moved up to the older group of 4 1/2 to 6 year olds (Matthew is 3 1/2). But the kids we knew from church that all wanted to be on the team together are all in that age group, so Park and Rec was great to move him up with those kids. Troy is coaching and is lucky to have the help of the other dads that we know.
