Winter Swim

Andrew, Joshua and Matthew were the ones silly enough to suit up for the event. Wiser Triston chose to stay dry.

Just the puddles of water on the ground were cold enough for this swimming nut.

So we or I should say Troy planned on cleaning the pool today. Leaves have found their way to the bottom and the best way to get them out is by 'hand'...so he suggested to the kids a reward in dollars would be given if they dove in and got the leaves out. Weather today was a high of 48 and has been this way for quite a few weeks. Needless to say the water was more than cold. Troy just put his hand in a few times in cleaning said it felt like needles it was so cold. So Andrew, Joshua and Matthew suited up for the event...Triston didn't even entertain the idea being the wiser child. Joshua dove in first and came up crying and empty handed. Andrew still braved it after that and dove in getting out one large palm branch. We got both their first reactions on our home camcorder so this one does not do the fun any justice...but serves as proof that they in fact did jump in. Both kids said it felt like jumping through ice...like they know what that feels like!!
